Redstar Raceway Social Racing Series Kicks off with a Bang.

Round 1 of the Redstar Raceway Social Series came out swinging, delivering a full day of action across the board. From brand-new machinery to proper old-school classics, the grid was stacked and the racing didn’t disappoint.

400cc, Suzuki 8R Cup & Classics.

Heat 1.

Sixteen riders charged into Turn 1, with #69 Tyler Morgan leading the way. #71 Mike McSkimming showed strong pace at the front of the Classics class before a mechanical issue cut his race short. Morgan stayed sharp to take the win, followed by #41 Jason van Breda in 2nd and #110 Bohlale Mafokate in 3rd.

Heat 2.

The final heat delivered more of the same, with battles right through the field. Morgan hit the front early and never looked back, completing a clean double. Van Breda secured another 2nd, with Mafokate once again in 3rd.

Overall Results:

Heat 1.

One of the biggest grids of the day delivered proper racing from lights out. Close calls and late moves kept things tight, but #350 Jannie Potgieter found his way to the front and controlled the race to take the win. #45 Leon Horn followed in 2nd, with #166 Reginald Seale in 3rd.

Heat 2.

The intensity ramped up again, with plenty of elbow-to-elbow action. After a crash in Heat 1, #82 Henk Kruger bounced back in style, riding a measured race to take the win. Potgieter finished 2nd, with Horn in 3rd.

Heat 1.

#52 Troy Tonking grabbed the holeshot, while #88 Damion Purificati launched hard and slotted into contention alongside #11 Ryan van Nieuwkerk. Tonking led early, but Purificati soon took control and carried it through to the win. Tonking followed in 2nd, Van Nieuwkerk 3rd.

Heat 2.

The pack stayed tight early on before the front-runners began to stretch away. Purificati sealed the deal in style, powering out of the final corner to take the win and overall. Tonking secured 2nd, with Van Nieuwkerk in 3rd.

#7 Senshe Smith wasted no time hitting the front, with #33 Darren Mortimer close behind. #17 Jarrod Geypen worked his way through into 2nd, but Smith stayed in control to take the win. Geypen finished 2nd, with Mortimer in 3rd.

Heat 2.

Smith doubled down with another dominant ride, controlling the race from the front. Geypen followed in 2nd, with Mortimer once again in 3rd.
