Last Sunday, two of our team donned our most charming underwear, hopped onto bikes and headed to Pretoria to witness – and partake in the annual Antipants ride. It was a lot of fun.
Antipants is a social responsibility spin that was started by two ladies, Skinny and Yolanda. The idea was to find a charity and give them some support. Last year it was the turn of the Giraffe, this year, the Pangolins get some love.
Sadly, the shy Pangolin are the most poached animals on the planet, mostly because people eat them and use their bits for all kinds of medicine.
Lekker hey!
The girls decided that, this year any funds raised would go towards helping them out.
To this end, a portion of every riders entry fee (There must have been around 200 of those), money donated to pop a sticker onto one of the pretty girls bottoms… (We saw all of you), and an auction hosted by The Bike Shows Donovan Fourie.
Boxes of bike goodies, donated by companies like DMD, a Blue Bulls Jersey, a framed pic of Max Verstappen, and weekends away at Mabalingwe were snapped up for a bargain.
The riders came along in all shapes and sizes, on bikes and scooters of all shapes and sizes, all converging on the Huckleberry restaurant for a great breakfast (Where riding pants were exchanged for undies and stuff) – and then a well planned processional ride was led all the way out to the famous Mulligans pub in Harties.
It was so cool to see the onlookers gawping at all the December legs and taking pics and videos!
More than forty grand was raised.
Not bad for a bunch of underpants clad motorcyclists!
All proceeds go straight to the foundation.
Cool Huh?
It was a lot of fun. It’s a lekker event. Very chilled, Nice peeps and importantly – a great cause!
