We joined around a hundred people at Zwartkops Raceway on a glorious highveld day for Honda’s Brunch Cruise….
The day was presented by Honda Wing South Africa, Honda Wing Centurion, Honda Wing Vereeniging and Honda Wing Sandton. There were a couple of bikes on display and participants were available to take them around the track.
It was not all Honda, the day was open to everyone, no matter what age, gender,size or what bike you ride. It was a complete track experience with marshals , riding instructors and medics on stand by.
They had different classes to suit each individual.
Class A is the fastest class and is for riders that race.
Class B is for the experienced riders that are no strangers to riding on track.
Class C is for the riders that have been on track a few times and are getting faster and better.
Class D is for newcomers and riders looking to progress their riding skills.
The day was well attended with peeps of all shapes and sizes on bikes of all shapes and sizes…
It was a lekker crowd that gathered for riders briefing. This is where you get told about the do’s and don’ts of track riding and safety. An explanation on what flag has what meaning and how important it is to listen to the marshalls.
It is really a good and very fun way to improve your riding skill, both on the track and on the road.
Riding instructors from Honda go out with you to show you which riding line to take through the corners. They are there to keep an eye on you, show you the lines and keep you safe.
With ten minute sessions for each class, you get quite a lot of track time (A fast rider will do about 1.05 per lap).
It’s important to go around the circuit with your own bike, this will give you more confidence when it comes to riding your bike on the road.

What a lekker day and a great initiative by Honda. Days like these are a good idea to attend if you are new or an experienced road rider, you’ll always learn something.
