Engine.

The 2026 KTM 690 SMC R is powered by that 692.7cc LC4 single‑cylinder engine that pushes 77.9bhp and 73Nm of torque.

KTM has revamped almost half of the components, with new clutch and stator covers, a redesigned crankcase, and a refined oil delivery system.

they tell us that the result is improved reliability, reduced drag and importantly, even sharper power delivery.

Fully adjustable WP suspension.

Suspension.

The ’26 suspension gets subtle but smart tweaks. An inverted WP APEX 48 front fork and a WP APEX rear shock with Pro‑Lever linkage  handle 230 mm of travel each. Tuned for supermoto aggression, both ends feature fine‑click compression and rebound adjustments 30 up front, 20 at the rear.

Brembo Brakes.

Brakes.

Stopping power is delivered by a twin-piston Brembo caliper up front paired with a 320 mm disc, and a 240 mm disc with single-piston caliper stopping things at the back. The setup  includes SPORT ABS and Supermoto+ mode giving riders the option to brake hard, drift the rear, or corner with confidence.

17" spoked wheels.

Wheels.

The 690 SMC R rolls on 17‑inch wheels front and back that are light, sturdy and narrow enough for quick direction changes.

Specs like a 3.5″ front and 5.0″ rear width keep things balanced for agile slide, control and traction.

Chassis.

The chromoly-steel trellis frame is a touch stiffer than before and improves rigidity without sacrificing the flex. The swingarm is cast in one piece, keeping the rear linkage tidy and durable. The subframe uses the fuel tank as part of its structure to shave weight.

Ergonomics.

From the sculpted tank wings to the smooth cable routing, everything is engineered for movement and freedom. The seat sits around 890–899 mm high, covered in a grippy, SMC‑R specific texture for traction in full lean, while slim-profile footpegs are trimmed for maximum lean to let you scrub corner exits.

4.2" TFT Screen.

Electronics.

The 2026 SMC R is equipped with a 4.2″ TFT display with anti-glare polarization and KTM connect, giving you music control, phone integration, and turn-by-turn navigation via USB‑C. Cornering ABS and Cornering MTC are standard, backed by 6D sensors. Choose between Street or Sport modes or unlock the TRACK mode for launch control, anti‑wheelie, slip‑adjustment and motor‑slip regulation.

Visibility gets a boost with an all-new LED headlight and matching indicators. The LEDs are bright and clean, but they tell us that the cleverly designed reflector avoids harsh cutoff edges so your night time runs are well-lit without blindsiding your focus.
