The last round of Zwartkops’ Brunch Run and Thunderbikes took place this past Sunday. For some, it was a day they will never forget. For others, a day that they won’t want to talk about.
Either way, there was a lot of action…
Brunch Run.
Combined Results.
Results as per TJ Timing.
Race 1.
Out of the sixteen riders that qualified, the top three riders who took up the front row had less that 0.3 sec difference in their time. On pole was #2 Nkululeko Majola , joined by #20 James Brown and #21 Arno Erasmus.
When the lights went out to start race one, Erasmus flew off the line to claim the holeshot and in a few laps he opened quite a gap. Erasmus crossed the line for the win, Majola followed in 2nd place and #52 Eugene Lee took 3rd.
Race 2.
This time, the race started with only 12 riders Read the top section – four of the original racers crashed out!), and once again Erasmus shot off the line to take an early lead. His pace was just too great and he rode his way to victory. Majola claimed 2nd with Lee grabbing 3rd place.

Race 1.
Again we saw the front row riders times only 0.2 sec difference. These riders were #43 AJ Venter, #7 Luca Bertolini and #4 Hein McMahon.
It was the Isle of Man rider who got the holeshot and took the lead. Crashes on the first lap saw the appearance of the red flag and the race had to be restarted.
After the restart – more crashes and another red flag.
The grid shrunk from 21 riders to 17 riders.
Third time lucky, the race got underway and Venter again got the lead and pulled a gap. He took the flag in 1st place, McMahon got 2nd and #117 Dave Veringa followed in 3rd.
Race 2.
A cracker of a start had Venter up in front again, he duplicated his performance and created himself some breathing room that led to a comfortable second win for the day. A battle between McMahon, Veringa and #10 Peron Parasaramen had the spectators on their feet!
In the end, McMahon placed 2nd and Veringa took 3rd place.
There was a lot of good racing throughout the pack, thanks to all the riders for an entertaining show!
