ZX-10 Masters Cup Round 2 – Redstar Raceway - Ridefast Motorcycle Magazine

For the first time since 2022, Red Star Raceway hosted the National Extreme Festival. There was plenty happening on track, but we were there to cover the best of the lot – the Sunbet ZX-10 Masters Cup. With 19 bikes on the grid, the riders put on quite a show.

Heat 1.

The riders took their places on the grid, with #88 Damion Purificati on pole position. Alongside him were #4 Hein McMahon and #31 Keith Agliotti, completing the front row. The lights went out and the riders launched into action, with Purificati grabbing the holeshot.

A few laps in, the field began to spread out, but there were still plenty of great battles throughout the pack. Agliotti and McMahon fought hard for second, while #82 Henk Kruger and #469 AD van Dalen went head-to-head. Further back, #166 Reginald Seale and #56 Dirk Stols diced it out, as did #45 Tyron Piper and #811 Robert Ferreira, more than enough action to keep everyone entertained.

Up front, Purificati opened a commanding gap and rode to a comfortable victory. Agliotti secured 2nd, followed by McMahon in 3rd.

Heat 2.

The second and final race of the day didn’t disappoint, with riders rubbing shoulders from start to finish. There were even more battles throughout the field, particularly a three-way fight between #166 Seale, #37 Byron Rothquel and #60 Trevor Westman.

At the front, Purificati once again dominated, securing a double win and a perfect day. McMahon claimed 2nd, with Agliotti taking 3rd.
