The fiercer version of DIABLO ROSSO IV offers higher grip in dry conditions with enhanced hard handling and consistent performance over multiple severe riding sessions. The wide, much larger slick areas on shoulders give outstanding cornering support at extreme lean angles while the central grooves with new flash design gives consistent performance over multiple severe riding sessions. The new disposition of lateral grooves which equates to a reduced number of lateral grooves and more rubber to the road at mid-lean has increased tyre solidity and lateral thrust while cornering giving enhanced hard handling capabilities and the dual compound layout with wider soft areas for front and rear tyres once again enhances cornering grip.
The DIABLO ROSSO IV Corsa features the same innovative structures as the DIABLO ROSSO IV with Pirelli’s stiff cord technology at the forefront. The stiffer chords feature a lower end count and leave wide room for the compound, enhancing tyre comfortability and contact with the road. This allows for full even control when pushing hard. This tyre also features the same innovative contours of the ROSSO IV, derived from Pirelli’s experience in the WSBK. The multi radius sharp contours deliver and immediate transition from lean to upright and a quick change of direction, whilst the flatter shoulder portion provides high grip and line holding while cornering. The front tyre profile enhances handling, inviting the rider to lean in earlier and facilitating quick changes in direction. The wide contour provides outstanding stability thanks to the extended contact patch area. The rear tyre follows the same scheme and a similar geometry to that of the front to ensure synchronised behaviour of the set. This tyre has a dual compound layout with wide soft shoulders for both front and rear. The harder full silica layers provide high speed stability and abrasion resistance. The softer side compound come into play at lean angles over 250 km h and deliver additional grip and contact feeling. The rear tyre compounds have been developed to work perfectly with the front. The full-silica centre compound delivers excellent grip in any conditions, fast cornering and early throttling. The softer Racing-derived side compound is related to SC compounds that equips PIRELLI racing products. This 100% Carbon Black compound delivers fast warm-up and provides incredible grip during extreme accelerations when over 25° lean angle. The ROSSO IV Corsa tread pattern is the slicker version of DIABLO ROSSO™ IV, developed to provide increased grip thanks to the maximised contact patch. Centre grooves are a slicker evolution of the Pirelli patented FLASH groove. The FLASH is designed to deliver directional stability, ensure wear regularity and favour water drainage when speeds increase. The central slick portion in the FLASH provides additional constructive stiffness which helps the tyre to deliver consistent performance over multiple severe riding sessions. The reduced number of lateral grooves results in more rubber to the road at mid-lean, increased tyre solidity and higher lateral thrust while cornering. The large slick shoulder area provides outstanding cornering support at extreme lean angles.
