What are the chances of us seeing this bike on shores? Well, we don’t know, especially with it being a limited production special edition, but if it does make it down this far south we will be sure to try and get a few hours with it, in the meantime here is a little bit of something for you to lust after….
A desirable collector’s item, a legendary colour combination that symbolises energy and passion. This bike is in honour of a champion who left his mark on history and that will be remembered always.
Ayrton Senna is a name that will never be forgotten, this is exactly what Borgo Panigale had in mind with the manufacturing of the Monster Senna. The Ducati and Senna story was born in the early 90’s when Castiglioni, Ducati’s president at the time would often visit Formula 1 tracks as the Brazilian was taking the world by storm.
After Castiglioni met Senna they became close personal friends, Senna’s love for all things with a motor quickly grew to include a passion for Ducati. He was given an 851 SP model as a gift from Castiglioni in 1990 and in 1993 he received one of the first red Monster bikes.
The Senna Monster is a limited edition version of the most iconic naked bike, Ayrton Senna himself was one of the first ever owners. Only 341 units will be available. Why 341? Well, 3 for the amount of world titles and 41 for the number of race wins celebrated. The livery and the vibrant yellow, green and blue colour scheme is inspired by the Brazilian’s helmet.
Bianca Senna, CEO of Senna Brands and CEO of Ducati Corse Claudio Domenicali were part of the presentation held at the Autodromo Enzo and Dino Ferrari during the Formula 1 GP in Imola.
