Yes we know, it is essentially a car product, but it does have a place in the motorcycle market as well…. otherwise we wouldn’t be looking at it – would we now? Just about every single road motorcycle has a windscreen/windshield of some sort, our helmets have visors or goggles and they all get splattered in bugs, mud, dust and sometimes even oil and other weird stuff we would rather not know its origins. And we all need to clean said wind protection devices on a regular basis and generally we all turn to dishwashing liquid, aerosol furniture polish and sometimes even more harsh concoctions. The problem is that 99% of all these products have a negative effect on the longevity of our plastic visors and windshields.

Works well on bike windshields.

Let’s give you an example, one of our team used to sell Arai helmets, now if you know your beans, Arai visors are extremely flexible and almost never break, snap or shatter. One day he bumped into a customer at a dealer, serviced and cleaned his helmet whilst explaining to the client all the features of the Arai, one of which being the indestructibility of the visor. The usual demonstration of such is to twist the visor into unbelievable shapes and return it to normal without any damage. However, this particular day the visor snapped immediately. NO! It wasn’t a Fong Kong rip off, but rather the genuine article that had been cleaned regularly with harsh chemicals as mentioned in the intro. Fortunately, said Arai rep had sample visors in his car and replaced the broken unit with a brand new one at no charge.

So, where does Spanjaards Windscreen Cleaner come into play? Well, we are assured by Spanjaard, (and we did check to make sure), that it is completely safe to use on plastic windshields, helmet visors and goggle lenses as long as it is used according to directions, basically 100ml of the Spanjaard Windscreen cleaner to about 4 litres of water. It does contain 2-Butoxyethanol so it is a good idea not to use it in direct sunlight or allow it to dry, rather rinse it off once you are done washing and then dry the surface with a soft cloth or paper towel. The bottle has handy measurements on the side for accurate pours.

Mix in spray bottle.

It easily loosens and removes grease, dirt, grime and insect residue within a few seconds so that you can wipe or rinse them off without scratching your windshield or visor, and then it ensures a clear, smear free vision both day and night. We tried it on our own helmets, goggles and bike windshields as well as put it in the windscreen washer bottles of all our cars and it does exactly what it says on the label and does it very well.
