This has to be one of the best road trips we have done in a while. The Suzuki GSX-S1000GX is the latest and most technically advanced offering from the brand to date, the Western Cape has unbelievable beautiful roads and the most beautiful scenery, and all the people are just so nice. We popped in early one morning at Thundercycles in George. Vossie Vosloo, (DP), and Charl Joubert (Manager), were very friendly and showed us around.
Opened in 2005 and moving to George in 2012, they have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with in the area. Over the last 20 years they have secured a whole bunch of franchises and are now agents for Suzuki, Kawasaki, SYM, Kayo, Lifan, Polaris and Linhai. They offer solid parts and service back up for their brands, with a well stocked parts department and a professional workshop capable of anything from a puncture to complete rebuilds and everything in between.
The showroom floor is also well stocked with all their top sellers for their market from each brand. With a lot of agriculture in the area, they do have a lot of quads and Side x Sides in stock, as well as a lot of the smaller and medium capacity bikes. Their accessories department is impressive, with a very good amount of everything from jackets to helmets, bolt on goodies and just about everything you can imagine. Well stocked shops do seem to be an ever present theme in the Cape, or at least with the shops we visited.
So, if you’re in the market for the latest Suzuki, like our GSX-S1000GX, or a new Kwasaki, Sym, Kayo, Lifan, Polaris or Linhai and if you need parts or technical back up on said brands in and around the Southern Cape, then Thundercycles has to be your ultimate destination.
