So worth a visit...
The guys warned me about this store, but I had no idea…
If you’ve never been to 300 PLUS, you should really pay them a visit!
Eye candy galore and these guys know all about fast bikes and making them look the part…
By Stefan van der Riet
Situated in the bustling metropolis of Centurion, just off the John Vorster offramp on the N1, you’ll find a little shop filled with big smiles and a passion for anything fast on two wheels. Ashlay Sauron, the founder and owner of 300 PLUS has made it his life’s mission to make the best machines even better.
As I walked into the front door my jaw dropped. There sat some of the most beautiful superbikes and race bikes that I have ever seen.
They’ve got some gorgeous BMW S1000RR’s, Ducati Panigales, Italjet scoots, and bikes that I have never actually seen before.
In stock form, these bikes are enough to leave you drooling, but look a little deeper and you’ll see that this team knows how to enhance things…
You’ll find some trick parts strewn about the shop like the full custom exhaust systems with titanium headers and seamless welds on display at the coffee stand and BST carbon wheels mounted on the wall like trophies.
300 PLUS does not only sell high end performance motorcycles, but they specialise in taking them to the next level. Ashlay’s main passion is to take your exotic superbike, and make it truly yours by customising it with some of the best aftermarket accessories from around the world.
Take the Dragster that we rode – Ashlay and the team are the first in the world to fit a quickshifter – and they fitted a link pipe to make it really rumble.
We managed to sneak into their workshop and it looks like a surgical art studio where masterpieces are created..
Bikes on their showroom floor include exotic machines from Bimota, Ducati, BMW, Honda, MV, Italjet…
Most are wrapped in various choice carbon fibre bits and bobs, top market custom clutch covers, sprockets, mirrors and levers, and even stylish grips, all while enhancing already stunning exotic machines.
Bikes get upgraded with exhausts like SC Project and Termignoni straight from the Italians. Luxury quilted seats and personalised lighting can all be manufactured or procured for your ride.
The guys and girls manning the fort are all smiles and happy to help. We had a good long chat with Ashlay who runs the show, and his passion for these machines really shows.
He showed us some of the projects that he’s delivered in the past and some of them are too spectacular to even describe.
It’s clear this man loves his job, and in his words: “life begins at 300” which pretty much sums up the whole shop’s philosophy.
It’s definitely worth your while to pop into the store, but – don’t tell your other half!
Check out their website where they have a whole gallery of previous projects for you to drool at.
Did I mention they also do servicing and maintenance? Your one stop superbike shop!
Coz life begins at 300 PLUS…
